is the 1st. consultation w/ surgeon always so fast?

I had my first consult today with Dr. Overcash and he weighed me and took me in the room asked me what kind of surgery I wanted and he explained more risks then good about the surgery and told me he wouldnt even want me to have the surgery but diets dont work and if i keep getting heavier I could be dead at 60 he did scare me alittle but i said I was still interested in the surgery is that what they all do at the 1st. appt? Then he gave me a packet to fill out and Patrice told me when I have all the info, together send it in the mail to her after I have my physc. evaluation,IS that what they do wait until everything is together and dont take any of your info. the fist time? I was running all over getting all this stuff together when I really didnt have to today.I guess. If you could let me know how it went for u I would appreciate it ..thank you They were all very nice I just am a little confused as to how it works....
