why cant I eat solids of any kind ?

I have had 2 surgeries since 7-12-02 my second was 8-12-02.I had complications,I had adhesions a twisted intestine plus loose bowel? at any rate I was told to eat like I had the surgery back in July versus Aug.I am still having a lot of pain in my stomach area and as far as eating I can not tolerate anything but liquids.I have tried kept records etc everytime I try within 30mins it all comes out.I was given Prilosec to help with my stomach and hopefully allow me to eat smething.I have been taking this for 3 days and no difference, needless to say I am worried.I have been vomiting almost 8 days in a row.Some of the fault lies with me but the past 4 days I have stayed on a very strict regime documenting time how long it took and what I eat.The only thing consistent is pain and the inability to eat solids.I have tried contacting the nurse unforunately her and my surgeon are on vacation.A stand in for her called and advised me to stay on liquids till either the doctor calls on 9-3-02 or the nurse calls if it gets worse I need to contact the hospital.Any ideas or advise this has really gotten me pretty down plus to top things off I started the runs today.Please advise???
