Questions about the diet just before surgery...

First off, I want to say- WAHOOO!! Only 26 days til my surgery!! Anyways, my surgeon requires a high protein diet two weeks leading up to the day before (then clear liquids only) and I am curious about a couple of things. How much would be considered high protein? Is a daily meal of (lean) beef a good idea? I know that steak is difficult to digest and I would think it might be a good idea not to eat it a few days before surgery. Is it alright to eat it within that first week of high protein though? I'm thinking alot of chicken, refried beans, peanut butter- what else? Start some shakes now? Thanks for your advice!
