How early is to early to scuba dive?

My husband joined a class to get certified to scuba dive and he really wants me to learn also. I'm only 10 weeks post-op. The next available class would be at 4 months post-op. It involves lifting a 35 lb tank. If anyone knows anything about diving please let me know what you think. Thanks
