Exercise balance--How much Cardio and Weight toning should you do?

I am currently working out 5 days a week. I do the ecliptic rider with the movable arms 3 days a week for 20-30min. I do the ecliptic rider without arms on Tuesdays for 45 min then I do a step class in the evenings that has floor exercises with little resistance. How long before I start to add weights? I ask this is because I don't want my fat to start looking bigger over larger muscles--I want to tone but just enough to shape the body.
