How long does it take to be healed before I can sleep in bed?

I am really getting sick of sleeping in the recliner. it has been almost 3 weeks since surgery, and my ribs still hurt if I lay on my sides in bed, and laying flat on my back is too uncomfortable to sleep all night. can anyone let me know how long to expect to have to sleep in the recliner?
