Should I be taking 500mg everyday of B-12?

I'm taking the sublingual B-12 everyday. I keep reading different things on dosage. Is it enough or too little? Should I take it less often or twice a day to get 1000mg a day? As you can see, I'm confused! Also, I'm taking one Flinstone Chewable with iron a day. Is this correct? Thanks
