Should I tell my surgeon that I am a recovered bulimic?

I have been recovered for 6 years and haven't had any episodes. I am not the same girl that I was then, and I have no desire to be. But I am afraid that if I tell the surgeon of my history, that it will ruin my chances. Please help.
