Post op with elevated liver enzymes

I am almost five months post-op and today when I was at my endocrinologist's office he told me that at my last visit I had way elevated liver functions. I have never had elevated liver functions before, and at my last endo appointment I was only a few weeks post-op. He is rechecking now that it has been a couple of months and wants to see if they are still elevated and if they are worse. I guess my question is to all the post ops, is this normal? And if not, what do they do about it? I know only my doctor can answer this one, but is it dangerous? I am just trying to get an overall picture of what I am dealing with. I will get the results in a few days. Thanks.
