Underarm skin burning with dipilitories?

Since my open rny in Feb. I get "burned" every time I try to use Neat or Nair to remove my underarm hair. I have little "tics" under my arms so I am unable to use a shaver. Any idea why this is happening or how to fix the problem. Presently, I use a large layer of vaseline around the area to keep the burning to a minimum. I only leave the lotion on a min or two and it starts burning. Hope someone can help.
