Will an elevated white blood cell count postpone surgery in 6 days?

After waiting for a year my surgery is scheduled for 1/18/01. Pre op tests revealed an elevated white blood cell count, but I don't feel sick. Will surgery be postponed, my surgeon's office is waiting for followup results before they will tell me anything.
