OK, I know you can't wear contacts during surgery but what if.....

you have no glasses at all.(Can't afford to just go get glasses) I know i won't need them while I'm in surgery but what about the 3 days in the hospital?I am blind without them. Can I put them back in when I wake up? I have searched for an answer in the library but couldn't find one. Thanks you guys!
