I want to know if anyone has experienced two pap smears before surgery that were irre

gular, would you proceed with the Mini Gastric Bypass before you had this problem checked out with a Gynocologist? Back in July 2000, I had my preoperative physical with my PCP and my pap smear report came back with the words "Atypical cells present." Therefore, my PCP urged me to have another one the first of Sept 2000 which I did. The second one has come back the same with the same words. Has anyone has this type experience, and I would like some advice on this. My surgeon hopes to schedule me in the next couple or three weeks for the Mini Gastric Bypass, as I have completed all my paperwork. I had a similar problem last year with a pap smear, and a gyno said everything was fine, after I went through several tests. Being 56 years old (and very young at heart) I think it may just be a menopause problem. Thanks for responding. Kate
