Yesterday I met with my surgeon for the first time...

Dr. Dennis Smith. It was kind of anti-climactic. I was so nervous and I got in there and I was SO prepared with all my paperwork and backup and knowledge about the different kinds of surgery that there wasn't much for us to talk about. He did thank me for all the preparation. He said it should make things much smoother. I listened really well to you post-ops!!! He said he will send a letter right away to my insurance company stating medical necessity and as soon as they hear something they will let me know. He wants me to have the Lap RNY. He said he thinks I'm a really good candidate, especially since I'm still in reasonably good health. After approval from the insurance co (I am being POSITIVE about that) then I have to see a cardiologist, a psychologist, and a nutritionist. Then if everything looks OK there, I have pre-op tests and get scheduled for surgery. I have to see him once a month for 6 months, then every other month for 6 months, then a couple of times a year for a while. I had no idea there was that much follow up. You guys wish me luck!!!
