doctor that refer for surgery without sereve problems in Los Angeles

I am in the BMI range that is needed for surgery. But, I do not have sereve medical problems at this time due to my age. Within the next few years, since I have had a steady weight gain I will be developing all the problems that are mentioned. I would like to prevent major medical problems before they occur. Does any one know of any doctor in the Los Angeles area that is sympathetic to our problems and will work with us. I have found the surgeon that I am going to use. I would like to see a doctor before my first meeting with him. I have Blue Cross PPO insurance. I would appreciate any and all help.
