How do I know which surgeon to use for my surgery?

I have the support of my primary care physician for the surgery and I'm so excited, but my primary is not very familiar with the surgery and can't help much in recommending a surgeon. I live in the Metrowest area of Boston and need some suggestions on which surgeons are best.
