How can one feel confident that the staple line will not rupture?

I had the Vertical band Gastro Plasty surgery in 7/96. I am not set to have a revision on 3/28/00. My staple line was ruptured and I gained back 55 pounds of the 76 I lost. Although this rupture was probably caused by my overeating, I fear that the staple line for the Roun Y will do the same. It's very hard to adjust when you've been used to eating anytime of day, anything that you want, to suddenly eat cream of chicken soup and jello for 6-8 weeks. I know that Dr. Anez and his staff will provide me with the support needed, but I'm still scared that I will be back to where I started in another 3 years. I hate to think negative, and always try to think positive about everything that I do, but it's hard. I've struggled for many years, practically since I was a child with my weight. I desire to be able to run up stairs without running out of breath etc. Can anyone that has had the surgery give any insight as to the staple line, and any revisions and how they have proved to be successful unlike the Vertical Ring Banded Gastro Plasty? Thanks, Daphne
