Can wls be done at the same time as a lumbar fusion?

I have 3 herniated discs in my lumbar spine. My docs want to do a fusion/discectomy. Since they have to go thru my belly for the fusion anyway, I was wondering if both surgeries could be done together. I don't want to be cut twice.
