Is there anyway to get insurance to cover surgery if there is an exclusion?

I have an appt with Dr. Hall (anyone heard of him)in Lubbock Texas On Sept2. I have American Medical Security insurance (PPO) and they have a exclusion for morbid obesity stapling, bypass ect. My BMI is 51%. Is there anyway around it??? thanks, Barbara
