How soon before I can return to work as a Barber-standing for long periods of time?

I am seroiusly considering having the surgery. I am concerned about how soon I may be able to return to work. I am a barber and I have to stand on my feet 8-10 hours per day. I am also constantly raising my arms as part of my occupation. I would like to hear from someone who has had the surgery whose job also requires standing for long periods of time and use of arms. How long did you have to say off work and what are some of the work related problems you experienced?
