I have the flu, is it okay to take this medicine??

My son and I both have been diagnosed with the flu. Luckily we just got it, so the doctor thinks we should be feeling better in a couple of days. My doctor gave me Tamiflu (think that's what it is called). It is a small capsule. Is it okay for me to take that? I have not taken any pills or capsules since my surgery and am kind of nervous. I had surgery 4 months ago, (I have lost 77 pounds by the way!!!) I just need some advice, let me know what y'all think. Merry christmas. We are going to try to enjoy it sick or not.
