Has anyone else had this due to

I had surgery on 3/10/03, and am still off work ( Dr. wants at least two more months!). How did you cope with this extreme pain, and do you feel it affected your recovery/weight loss? (personally, I feel my surgery and it's recovery went wonderfully, but the shingles showed up at about 2 weeks post-op, followed by the complication (from shingles) of neuralgia. Anyone?...
