Success Story- Revision to Original Open RNY Gastric Bypass
I had Open RNY Gastric Bypass on Feb 17th, 1995, on December 29, 1996, I gave birth to a beautiful baby girl weighing 7# 1.5 oz. Very Healthy, I breast fed her for 4 months and did well, my only problem was that I was used to eating the way I was eating while I was pregnant and nursing and I was still losing weight. I only showed a gain of 2 lbs on the scale the whole time I was pregnant. I was 186 when I got pregnant and was 188 at delivery and after delivery I was 165. However, when I quit nursing the baby, I did not change my eating habits (big mistake) and I gained 40 lbs back. Well by 2000 I had begun to realize that the pains I had been having for the last few years was actually my gall bladder acting up, so I scheduled surgery for gall bladder removal and I also had a hernia to repair and this is also when I went in to have my tummy tuck. I talked to the doctor and he said he would take a look at things inside while he was there and see how much my bowel had regrown and if it had regrown quite a bit he was going to shorten it up some which would enable me to lose some more weight. So long story short, he shortened it and I lost the 40 lbs I had gained, just wish he would have shortened it about 30 more lbs worth. But I am doing good, I still would like to drop 25-30 more lbs, I would be happy with 20, but I need another tummy tuck again and would actually like to get a body lift to rid my back of the loose skin and pick up a little drag on my butt, but alot of that one is from gravity and age as I never did have a big butt or legs to begin with, it was all around my trunk area. Two years ago, I started and run a local and online support group (I had NO support during my journey), I wanted others to have the support they needed to get through their own weight loss journeys. It has been awesome and the people are just wonderful. Warmest Regards, Carleen Golden New You Support Group
