If I HAD Hepatitis B over 10 years ago, can I still have RNY surgery?
I can't seem to find an answer to this anywhere. I had Hep B 12 years ago. All liver function tests have been "normal" since then. I always test pos to Hep B Core Antibody (HBCAB), because it will always be in my blood, as my body developed the antibody while fighting it. This is normal, and doctors expect to see this as a result of my prior Hep B history. Has anyone else HAD Hep B and qualified for surgery at a later time?
