UTI & Surgery

I have had a uninary tract infection for 2 months now. I have never had a problem like this before. I am afraid I won't be able to have surgery because of it. Has anyone had surgery when they had a UTI? Has anyone else ever had a cronic UTI? Thank you for your help.
