ABG (Arteriole Blood Gases)

My main question is, I have quit smoking 2 months ago and my surgery is scheduled for July 25, however my PAT's are sched. for July 16th. Will the length of time somehow delay the date of my surgery. I was also told that Dr. Leverton (BTC - Wylie,Tx) will not go ahead as planned if you do not pass this test. Aside from breathing exercises how do I know if I will pass? I am driving myself nuts over this. Thanks ahead of time :) Trish
