Anybody have Dean Care Health Plan

I live in Wisconsin and have Dean Care Health Plan. I tried to get approval for WLS and was denied because there is an exclusion in our policy for any type of weight loss programs/surgery. Does anyone have any suggestions or had any experience dealing with getting insurance approval? I have been diagnosed with diabetes and also told I need total knee replacements in both knees, all after I got the denial.
