Feels like a lump in the back of my throat

I am 3 weeks post-op, and am having a feeling like there is a lump at the back of my throat, and it makes me gag. It is fine when I eat, but comes back shortly after. My doctor put me on a drug called DonParadon, and it seems to be helping, but I'd like to know if anyone else has experienced this problem.
