Is the BD/DS more expensive than the RNY?

I have noticed that a lot more people seem to have the RNY instead of the BD/DS. Is this because the RNY is offered more, or is it because insurance does not approve BD/Ds as much? That leads me to my initial question, Is the BD/DS more expensive?
