Has anyone ever had pe's or blood clots prior to WLS surgery?

If so, what did the doctors tell you your risk of developing more clots during surgery were? My PCP and hematologist have scared the crap out of me and are trying to discourage me from having the surgery, as my cause for clotting is unknown. But in my first (and only so far) brief meeting with my surgeon he said he would refer me to several specialist to make sure I'm in optimal condidtion before surgery. I'm very confused and frustrated at this point. Help!!
