Can anyone tell me if they had a thryoid imbalance before surgery?

I'm 2 days preop (Monday 8/13) and my surgeon just put my surgery on hold because of a dam thyroid imbalance. I've been taking Synthroid for over 15 years and have been regulated just fine. About 2 weeks ago I received a new RX through the mail and they sent me a generic equivilent that is a different size and shape than the old pills. If anyone has had this happen, can you tell me how long it took to get regulated again so I can have the surgery. I am SOOO READY for the surgery, I just cried! Any help or encouragement would be appreciated. Thanks.
