Will the Surgery Incision from Open RNY ever heal?

I am 18 yrs old,and have a surgery date scheduled.I just wanted to know if the surgery incision will ever heal after you have had the Open RNY.I was kinda hoping to one day go to the beach without a shirt...however that is totally secondary and not imprtant...but I still would like to know.
