I m confused, transecting, staples sutures seperating

Ithought that a RNY was seperating stomach and stapling it and suturing it aswell. Also if stomach is not transected will it not close where all the staples are put anyway. How much of a risk is there with not transecting and pouch stretching. Is the fobi method with transecting or not.
