I had an open hernia repair on 4-12-04....

I had an open hernia repair on April 12. The swelling has now gone down and it appears that the hernia is still there. It looks exactly like it did before the repair and is in the same spot. It is still painful, which could be from the surgery, but also hurts like it di before. My question is, could I have developed another hernia or could my surgeon have not repaired the whole thing? He did not use mesh, just stitched the abdominal wall. I have an appointment this afternoon, but would appreciate any input. Thank you.
