Need to know....are all lap rny's transected?
For my own knowledge in advising others, I need to know if rny performed by lap procedure is always transected? Transected means that a physical separation by cutting the old stomach and the new pouch apart has been made when creating the pouch. Nontransected means that row(s) of staples are used to form the new pouch and the old stomach is still attached to the new pouch with ONLY staples between the two.
