Is hypothyroidism a hindrance to surgery?

I am a 41 yr old female who has my initial consult for surgery on Nov. 11 - FINALLY !!!!! I saw a website that said hypothyroidism is a contraindication to surgery? Is this true?? I have been hypothyroid for years and recently stopped taking my Synthroid for awhile -- I am now on it and my levels are OK.
