Has anyone had back pain on the left side where your kidneys are?

I woke up from the operating table with sever back pain but I prone to back pain anyway. My doc says he doesnt think it is surgery related. I do have a leak but I dont think the pain is from the leak. Has anyone had this? If so, how long till it goes away? It has gotten better but I cant sit up straight with out it hurting... THanks,.
