Can I use my own psychiatrist or licensed professional counselor for my psych eval?

I've been with the therapist on and off for over 6 years intensely and I've been under the care of the psychiatrist for a year. They know me better than anyone who could give me an hour's test. Do you know if any doctors allow people to use people they already know for these psych evaluations?
