Does everyone need an upper GI and chest x-ray before surgery?
I went today to have my pre-op work done at the hospital and all they did was a blood gas and pulmonary function test. After reading hundreds of posts, I was prepared to have x-rays and an upper GI. Should I be concerned that it wasn't done? What exactly are they for anyway? Has everyone else had it done? My surgery date is next wednesday and I guess I'm starting to freak out a little bit, so any advice to calm me would be greatly appreciated!:)
