Has anyone had problems with getting doctor's office to type up papers ?

I have been having a problem getting my surgeon's office to type up the first letter to my insurance to get my approval process started. It has already been six weeks since my appointment when the doctor said that all she had to do was write a letter to my insurance. The surical coord. keeps saying that it is still in dictation. Does anyone have any suggestions on what I should do next.
