My Pre-op Protein (albumin) levels are low, and I want to know why?

Has anyone else had this problem? We're you able to have surgery anyway? I am 42 and have had Rheumatoid Arthritis for 11 years. I have had low protein levels ever since. I believe this is probably related to my RA, but the surgeon has never heard of it. I am going to have some more blood work done, but I worry that this will keep me from having WLS. Does anyone here know about this. Any information is greatly appreciated. Carolyn
