Has anyone with insurance through Microsoft had their surgery approved?

Microsoft is essentially self-insured, but has Aetna PPO administer their plan. Although I can find several examples of Aetna PPO paying for this surgery, Microsoft's benefit dept. is adamant that ALL treatments of obesity, including surgery (despite several co-morbid conditions) are specifically EXCLUDED. They have sent along the verbage that supports their claim. I am heartbroken and want to fight, but my husband is afraid to take legal action against the software giant because it might somehow affect his job. I've been in tears all day...any and all support is greatly appreciated!
