Friend with Vertical Silastic Ringed Gastroplasty in 1980s

I have a friend who had the Vertical Silastic Ringed Gastroplasty (stomach stapling with a restrictive ring) in 1980s. She, as others, was not successful and would like to find out her options for a more successful surgery that is offered today. Does anyone know her options? Any help would be greatly appreciated. If there are any web sites or someone she can talk to, please let us know.
