Could this be an ulcer

Everytime I drink anything on an empty stomach, hot or cold, I am almost doubled over in pain. It takes a while for the pain to go away but then I am sick from an upset stomach the rest of the day. I am 2 years post op and have been transected but I still have a sour stomach alot of the time. I have a Dr appt next week but would like some feed back..
