How did you decide between an open RNY and a lap RNY?

The surgeon I had my consultation was with the Bariatric Treatment Center in Langhorne PA and they only do open RNY there, I am now questioning whether this is the best way to go. I have had a Lap Gallbladder 10 years ago and was back to work in a week post-op. I wonder if this is the better way to go. Please give me your opinion about this matter. Thanks.
