Aetna HMO Member Services said WLS is NOT covered! What now?

I was shocked at this since I have seen many people that have had Aetna HMO were approved. What should I do now? I don't want to give up before I even start. Should I discuss it with my PCP anyway & pray for approval later? Does anyone know if this sort of thing could be specific to my employer's plan?
