Anyone had WLS with one insurer and TT with another?

Had WLS 2.5 years ago with one insurer but was denied the TT. Now I have a new insurer and want to pursue it again. Any suggestions on how to go about it? Do I change doctors? Do I tell them about my previous denial? What kind of paper trails should I start? Can the new insurance company find out about my denial if I don't tell them? Any other suggestions would be really appreciated!!!
