anyone know if apnea affects weight gain?

i have sleep apnea and also had a tt in 2001. since then, i have been unable to lose a pound! very frustrating, and then the other day i read that sleep apnea can cause weight gain. anyone had luck losing after treating the apnea? how long till you had results in losing? thanks a bunch! darci
