Does my new insurance provider have to cover my hernia repair/tummy tuck?

We are going through an aquisition at work. Our insurance carrier will change from Cigna to BCBS. I am in the process of obtaining approval through Cigna right now for my upcoming hernia repair and tummy tuck in August. However, our insurance carrier will change effective July 1,2002. So my question is, will BCBS be required to cover my surgery or will it be classified as "pre-existing"?
