Surgeon won't do a Panni or Abdominalplasty with Hernia Repair

My surgeon won't perform both at the same time....his reasoning is that my hernia is large, and will require mesh during the repair....he said doing both surgeries could create problems...such as more infections, etc. Has anyone had a panni or abdominalplasty alone, with insurance covering....I have not experienced any rashes, but have a heck of a time with lower back aches...especially when I sleep....constantly having to shift because of the stomach pulling and applying pressure....I just want some reassurance that I could still possibly get my tummy done at a later date!! Thanx for any response/encouragement!!
